Dr. Charles Clay is an accomplished healthcare executive and facility management leader with over two decades of experience optimizing performance, safety, and sustainability across acute and non-acute care environments. As former Director
of Ancillary & Support Services and Regional Director of Engineering for Sutter Health, he oversaw multiple hospitals and support departments, integrating engineering, operations, and strategic management to improve patient experience and organizational
efficiency.
A licensed Professional Engineer and Fellow of the Chartered Association of Building Engineers, Dr. Clay brings a unique perspective that bridges the technical rigor of healthcare facility management with executive-level strategy. His leadership
has advanced capital renewal programs, regulatory readiness, and performance improvement initiatives that align engineering operations with healthcare delivery priorities.
Dr. Clay holds a Doctorate in Business Administration with a focus on Strategic Management, an MBA in Healthcare Management, and a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering.
