Legacy FM ICRA 2.0 Webinar: Infection Control Risk Assessment: Practical Application and Safe Work Practices
This interactive ICRA workshop is designed for healthcare facility, construction, maintenance, and trade professionals who need to recognize infection risks and apply safe work practices in active healthcare environments. This session emphasizes practical
field application: how construction and maintenance activities create infection risks, how those risks affect patients and staff, and what precautions must be used before, during, and after the work.
Participants will review common healthcare construction and maintenance scenarios involving dust, debris, airflow, water systems, containment, housekeeping, debris removal, and work area pressurization. Through examples, polling/quizzes, and
breakout activities, learners will practice identifying activity types, patient risk groups, and appropriate Classes of Precautions. The session also introduces key sections of the ICRA form to help participants better understand how risk mitigation
measures are selected, communicated, and implemented at the work site.
By the end of the workshop, participants will be better prepared to recognize infection control hazards, follow appropriate safe work practices, support containment and environmental controls, and help protect patients, staff, and visitors
during healthcare construction and maintenance activities.
